As a speaker, consultant, and executive education instructor to companies around the world, Professor Adner is known for his succinct advice to “match your innovation strategy to your innovation ecosystem.” In working with companies and executives, he uses new approaches to help organizations assess strategic opportunities and threats, manage innovation in collaborative ecosystems, manage the resource allocation process for investments in innovation, and identify and respond to changes in consumers’ definitions of value and performance.
Professor Adner’s managerial articles and viewpoints have been published in the Harvard Business Review, MIT Sloan Management Review, California Management Review, and in the global media, including Financial Times. His academic research on these topics has been published in top academic journals, including Strategic Management Journal, Rand Journal of Economics, and Advances in Strategic Management, among others. He is also a leading member of the editorial boards of Academy of Management Review, Strategic Management Journal, and Strategic Organization.
Prior to joining the Tuck faculty, Professor Adner was the Akzo-Nobel Fellow of Strategic Management and Associate Professor of Strategy and Management at INSEAD, in France, where he received INSEAD’s Outstanding Teacher Award five times in five years.
