Professor Slaughter’s knowledge and experience in globalization have been sought by leaders of both industry and government. He has served as a member of the Council of Economic Advisors, Executive Office of the President, where he advised the President, the Cabinet, and others on issues including international trade and investment, energy, and the competitiveness of the U.S. economy. Professor Slaughter has also worked with individual multinational firms and industry organizations that support dialogue on international trade, investment, and taxation.
Professor Slaughter’s work has been featured in BusinessWeek, The Economist, Financial Times, Newsweek, Time, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post, and he has appeared on broadcast programs such as CNN's Lou Dobbs Tonight and NPR's Marketplace. Over 40 management articles by Professor Slaughter have been published as book chapters and in peer-reviewed academic journals. He co-authored the book Globalization and the Perceptions of American Workers with K. F. Scheve.
Professor Slaughter is a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, a senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations, and currently serves on the academic advisory boards of the International Tax Policy Forum and the Tuck Center for Private Equity and Entrepreneurship.
