“Since Tuck’s LSI program, I have a renewed passion for my work and my role as a leader.”
FROM 10,000 FEET | When I arrived at Tuck for the program, I had lost some of my passion for my role as a leader. As a mid-career executive I felt I had nothing new to learn and could not inspire my team and colleagues I work with. By the end of the first day of the program I was energized. Since participating in Tuck’s LSI program, I have a renewed passion for my work and my role as a leader. By the end of the first day of the program I was energized, and my focus and interest increased each day, and back on the job.
A-HA MOMENT | Before LSI, I honestly hadn’t realized that my habit of frequently offering thoughts and opinions—or elaborating on those of others—might not be helping my team and colleagues, and might even make them feel deflated, diminished or simply frustrated. I now have a greater understanding of how my strengths can benefit the people I lead, as well as the behaviors I need to change because they can have an adverse impact on the people around me. The Leadership Reaction Labs were also enlightening. Through the simulations, I saw how easily a person can become disenfranchised if they are not engaged. This reinforced the need to carefully monitor the engagement levels of my team members.
THE TAKE-AWAY | Though the days were long, the content was so relevant and well organized that my enthusiasm and energy grew. By the end of the week I couldn’t wait to share my experiences at home and at work!
